Hi it’s me I’m back. 2013 is almost over and you may have noticed I took a hiatus from blogging. No worries all is well! I’ve been producing, arranging, and, playing trombone in addition to all the usual things people do with their lives.

I’ve got some Sibelius posts planned and also posts about some new apps I’m really excited about. So hang in there and I’ll be right back with a new post!

Did you miss me?

Hinch

Actually Hinch, I did miss your blog. In fact I didn’t get this one but the next and have a question about that (then I saw the title of the previous and realized you’d been otherwhere for awhile). I’m on the latest ver of Sib 7 and when I go to Edit Instruments, I get a completely different window than your illustration. It does say Edit Instruments, but it has four windows (Ensembles….families in ensemble etc) and does no select the instrument of the note that I’ve selected. I didn’t see a comment section so I’m writing this here.

Hi Art, Thanks for your comment! You missed a step. That is the Edit instruments window and you need to click on the button in the lower right that says “Edit Instrument” as it says in the blog post. Go back to the post, I’ve added a screen grab to clarify that step. Hinch

Gday John, pleased to see some new stuff in your blog. I have found many of your previous posts extremely helpful (in fact I’m just about to refer to your posts on working with large scores again) so thanks for taking the time.

Thanks Brett! So good to hear from friends in Australia. I have the pleasure of working in Sydney some years ago. It is such a beautiful place, I hope to get back some day.
